Address poisoning and clipboard safety
Avoid look-alike transaction-history addresses and clipboard replacement malware.

Familiar is not verified
An attacker can send a tiny transaction from an address whose beginning or ending resembles one you used before. Copying a destination from transaction history can therefore send funds to the attacker.
- Use a saved address only after independently verifying it.
- Compare more than the first or last few characters.
- Confirm the destination on the receiving service or trusted device.
Check after pasting
Clipboard malware can replace a copied address. Compare the pasted value with the source before approving, and use a small test transfer when practical.
