Control and responsibility
A wallet address can be shared to receive an asset. A private key or recovery phrase controls the wallet and must remain secret. CoinPork support will never ask for either one.
Custodial services can help with account recovery, while self-custody gives the holder more control and more responsibility. Neither structure eliminates risk.
Networks matter
The same asset name can exist on several networks. A destination must support both the asset and the exact network used for the transfer.
- Copy the address instead of retyping it.
- Confirm the asset and network on both sides.
- Use a small test transfer when practical.
- Treat a completed blockchain transfer as difficult or impossible to reverse.
